And I grew to discover that life is indeed a struggle…

Project: Curriculum development for Play School/Bridge School
Background: The Government schools in the community do not provide elementary education thus making it difficult for the children to learn quickly. This results in a lot of children dropping out in their early classes itself. In order to address this challenge, the Fellows have started a play school which caters to children from the community aged between 3 - 6years and aims at educating (oral & written) the kids in fundamentals of English (alphabets, rhymes etc) & Math (numbers). By far, the school has been managed by individuals from the community, who have passed their Xth standard but are not professionally trained in teaching elementary education. While on the other hand, bridge school caters to children from the community aged between 8 - 12 years & who have dropped out from school for various reasons. The objective is to bridge the gap of the lost academic years and train them to join higher classes.
Project Description: Broad tasks include, but are not restrcited to, the following -
